Nơm or fishing-tackle is a small and useful equipment in fishing which is widely used along rural Vietnam.With a “nom”, It is easy to catch many kind of fish which live in the ricefield or small pond, lagoon, swamp. Otherwise using Nom is also a great experience for anyone.
- Design: Nom has shape like a bell, with a perforated upper mouth and lower bottom. This design makes it easy for fish to go through but it is hard to get out.
- Material: Nom is made of bamboo, a light and elastic material. This material helps nom to stretch and easily adapt to the movement of the fish, thereby increasing the ability to catch fish effectively.
- Usage skills: Users need to have skills in placing and mastering nom. This skill includes sensitivity in detecting and moving the nom to match the fish’s movements.
